Album Review: Jennifer Hudson - I Remember Me

☆ 1/2

I absolutely love this album. Jennifer is back with one of the best albums this year. I know some people expected her to have those extremely big ballad songs songs but I love the directon she went in with this album. She collaborated with alot of great producers and song writers on this album (Alicia Keys & R. Kelly to name a few). I've heard some people say they didn't like the album, but if you really listen to it, you can feel the happiness, and joy in her voice. After all she been through she has pulled through wonderfully. I think this album is most definitely for the grown and sexy folks lol. I'm proud of Jennifer's sophomore effort, and I hope it gets promoted well & sell great.

Stand out tracks for me:
I Got This
Where You At
Angel
Gone (my favorite)
Feeling Good & Believe

Your going to love this album! smile

Ken Dahl.

My buddy Ken Dahl is back with his 3rd album simply titled "Ken Dahl." He first brought us "Tricks Of The Trade" (a classic debut album) then the diverse sophomore album "THE ADAHLCALYPSE." On "Ken Dah" Ken, of course gives us those classic club banners (my favorite type of songs by him), but he also gives us a little bit more. Some of the songs definitely takes me back to the classics from "Tricks Of The Trade." Songs like "2 My Face" &"Ching Ching" just goes hard, and I love it. You can tell this is a New York boy, who truly loves & represents where he's from. That "Turnin Owt Brooklyn Into" tells it all. "Fuck Dat N****" is my favorite song off the album. The beat is hot, and I can do a mean walk to this one lmao lol.... Ken even gives us some pop on this album with songs like "Abracadabra" "Undercover" & "Ice Cream." The two songs I'm the most impressed with is "Identical Twin" (I just get into this song, and I feel this is totally different for Ken. He flexes his vocal ability here, and it's just a beautiful song.) The other song is "Closet" (the meaning behind this song just really touches me). "Lucifer" is just the shhhhh to me. "I'm taking off my halo, and trashing it" YES!!!! LOL. I think Ken Dahl has really put together another great album with producers Garlic Bread Thompson and Matthew Kurz. I'm so proud of him. Make sure you guys download his new album here. And follow him on twitter @KenDahl4U, and let him know what you guys think about his new album.

Album Review: Brandy - Human

Well everyone knows by now (if not, where you been lol) that Brandy is by far my favorite artist on this earth. I was so excited to learn she was releasing a album this year. I have to say I'm truly in love with this album. Her vocals are amazing. She continues to prove to me why she is the top artist in my life lol. I absolutely love this album. You can definitely tell she's grown as a artist. She has had a rough past few years, and in this album you can see what those experiences has done to or for her. She has put her heart & soul into this album. Some of my favorite tracks are (even thought I love them ALL) "The Definition" "Right Here (Departed)" "Piano Man" "Long Distance" "Human" & "Fall." Brandy definitely shines with this album, and should be getting the recognition it deserves. Go out and support this album & great artist. The one and only Brandy.

And the # 1 Album this Week Is.... Beyonce - I Am...Sasha Fierce + Album Review

1st up Billboard News Reports:

Beyonce scores her third straight No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 this week as the double-disc "I Am ... Sasha Fierce" (Music World/Columbia) shifts a whopping 482,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The album, split between material credited to Beyonce and her new alter-ego Sasha Fierce, has already spawned the hits "If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)." Beyonce's 2003 solo debut, "Dangerously in Love," started with 317,000, while 2006's "B-Day" moved 541,000.

My album Review: 4 stars

I wanna say Yes to my baby for her 3rd straight album to debut at # 1 on the billboard top 200. LOL..... Ok now.... lets proceed with the album review. Now everyone and their animals know I love Beyonce`. She is my second wife next to my # 1 wife Brandy. (Yes Brandy) LMAO.... anyway I have to say when I 1st initially heard this album (2 weeks b4 it's release) I was like hmmm OK B I see where your going with this, but wasn't to sure if I was ready to follow lol. So unlike some people that get Cd's, listen to them, and then say they don't like it right after the 1st spin... I listened to it (and not forced myself to listen to it, because if I hated it I would say it LOL), and I was like OK B I'm feeling you. See, I'm so used to the "Crazy in Love" "Deja Vu" type of tracks from her, that I wasn't getting into what she was trying to do on this album. I got the Deluxe Edition, so I got like 5 more bonus tracks on the Cd, and I have to say (even though alot of people hated the Sasha Fierce CD) I like more songs off that disc than the other. All together out of the 15 tracks on my CD I absolutely love 11 of them. Do I think this is her best CD? In my opinion. No. But I'm sure she will do well. She always do..... look at the 1st week sales already. And she will have some hot videos. So anyway some of my immediate favs off the album are "If I Were A Boy" "Halo" "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" "Diva" "Hello" & "Ego."

So did you get the album?

What are your fav tracks?

Do you like the album?

and for the record I think Sasha has been more fierce on some of the other albums than this one. LOL. ;)
But my girl is still hot to death!!!!!!! He He!!! :)

It's Friday & Happy Halloween Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited that today is Friday. How about y'all?

I have so much to do. I have school photos today. And every time they take my picture it comes out horrible. Hopefully this year they got someone who knows what they are doing for a change lol.

I have to go see my little nephews off for Trick or Treating tonight. Of course I will be snapping photos like there is no tomorrow lol. Then Saturday night I have a Halloween party to attend, and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do as far as a costume.

I'm still in shocked about the things surrounding Jennifer Hudson's family. I truly feel for her right now. Keep her & her family in your prayers everyone. I was going to do a blog about her album b4 these tragedies occurred in her family, but I figured I would do it here. Everyone knows I love me some Jennifer Hudson, so I wanted to take my time, and listen to her Cd before I gave a review on it. I have to say I love the CD. But @ 1st I was expecting a more soulful type of album from her, but this CD is hot! It's all I been playing since it came out. As of yesterday, her album was released a month ago. (Shakes head)... This girl career is blowing up with a hit album, and movie, and some mess like this happens in her life. SAD!!!!! But anyway, I give the CD 4 1/2 stars. Go get her CD if you haven't done so already. It's worth every dime. Some days it's hard to listen to her CD with all this stuff surrounding her life right now. U cant help but think about her or the pain she's enduring while hearing her beautiful voice in your ears.

So your boy decided to finally make it official with the guy I been dating for almost 3 months. So I's married now LMAO.....but naw, I'm extremely happy with my new babe. Does everything right, and makes me feel really special. He makes my world so much better, and I'm looking forward to our journey together. This Toni Braxton song expresses how I'm feeling @ the moment about him LoL. :)

Toni Braxton - Sposed To Be (I love to dance to this Song, yes that type of dance LMAO) (Download)

Last but not least. Everyone Please make sure y'all go out and vote Tuesday November 4th. This election is so important. I'm not telling folks who they should vote for, but I know who I'm voting for..... Barack Obama all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend Chris had me crying laughing about my self made vote shirt on Myspace lastnight LMAO... What????.... I wanted to make a shirt shoot LMAO.... I can't stop laughing lol lol lol lol.

Until next week. Have a great weekend.

For some reason I been really feeling Kelis song "Milkshake" this pass week LMAO.

Kelis - Milkshake (Download)

Oh and Happy Halloween TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be safe & check all you candy b4 eating it. LOL.... So what do you have planned?

ALBUM REVIEW: Ashanti - The Declaration

4 1/2 stars

I have to be honest. Even though I really like Ashanti, I really didn't expect to much from this CD. Her last few albums have just been OK to me, but after listening to this CD I have to say she rocked it. I'm so surprised. I love just about every song on the CD. This album is definitely a must have. I'm telling y'all Ashanti did a bang up job on this CD. Maybe one of the reasons that this CD is so good could be that she worked with a different group of people on this album, oppose to the Murder INC. crew. Go get it y'all!!!

The standout tracks to me are:

The Way That I Love You
Your Gonna Miss
So Over You
Struggle
Girlfriend
In These Streets
Good Good
& The Declaration

Artist Spotlight: DUFFY & Album Review: Rockferry

Who is Duffy? Well I used to ask myself that when I used to see this album cover everywhere. One of my friends used to ask "Isn't that Hilary Duff" lol. Now I knew it wasen't her, but I still never really paid her any mind. So I remember cutting my other best friend hair like a few weeks ago, and he was playing some girl named Duffy, but I never once thought about her being the same Duffy my other friend was asking me about. So I was browsing billboard.com last week, and I saw this same album one the top 10 albums, so I had to go to itunes and check her out. I previewed it, and instantly had to have it. It was so soulful and beautiful! Now I remember hearing the song "Mercy" before on MTV on a commercial, but I thought it was some sort of MTV spoof lol. I was like I'm kinda feeling that song though lol. Then the video looked so old, and I only caught like 10 seconds of it because it was right after one of the shows went off, and they played part of the video. So I kept telling myself that not no real artist. Well im glad I took the time to out to see who she was, because she definitely is not a joke lol.

This album is hot!!! I love every last song on it. It's all I been listening to this week. (Well in between my top songs lol) It's a very old soulful bluesy type of album. Every song gives you something, and could be a single. I can't even name the songs on this album that standout because in my opinion they all do. Very well worth spending your money on. I bet my bottom dollar that if you get into Duffy you will be hooked! ;)

"Rockferry" in stores now!

Go out get this album! 1 OF THE BEST I'VE HEARD THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!! 5 's

SOMETHING FRESH & NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Album Review: Usher - Here I Stand

3 's

Ok lets see. Where do I start. I like Usher and he's a great performer, but for some reason this album is not giving it to my like I want it. (Get your minds out the gutter lmao) it's clearly missing something. Don't get me wrong it's listenable, but its hardly what I expected. Am I disappointed? hmmm not really but @ the same time I expected more. He does has some nice songs, and they album is cool, but overall I felt it could have been better. Here are some of the standout tracks to me:

Love In This Club

Trading Places

His Mistakes

Appetite

Love In This Club Part II

Here I Stand

Album Review: Cherish - The Truth

5 's

With all the female groups we have out today (Danity Kane, The Pussycat Dolls. Girlicious, to name a few) you can't help but wonder what this quartette Cherish has to offer the music scene. Well I will tell you.

Cherish is truly the essence of what a real R&B female group is supposed to be. They have a great style/look, great vocals, and catchy R&B songs that you can't help but like. They give me sorta what my girls 702 used to, and people know I love them lol.

This album is very good. I love it! Been listening to it all week. It's a album I can listen to from begging to end left with wanting more. Cherish will definitely be around for a while, and they couldn't have come up with a better album title because they are "The Truth."

Go get this Cd Y'all!

Standout tracks off this album are:

I have to say they are all good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every single track!!!

I Ain't Trippin' (One Of my favorites off the album. Currently playing on my myspace page lol ;)..) Is probably the hottest song on the CD though. But this is another perfectly well put together CD for me this year!

Album Review: Mariah Carey - E=MC2

4 1/2 's

I'm really diggin' this new Mariah album. If you enjoyed her "The Emancipation of Mimi " album you will definitely love this. It picks up right where she left off in my opinion. Definitely a mainstream R&B album. Tight beats, and well put together song arrangements. I personally miss the old songs Mariah used to do back in the day, where she wore notes out, but I do understand when a artist wanna do what's comfortable for them, and what sells for them. So I'm a Mariah fan whether she hits high notes, or low grunts. She's still hot, and the album is really good. Here are some of the standout tracks for me:

Migrate (featuring T-Pain)

Touch My Body

Cruise Control (featuring Damian Marley)

I Stay In Love (my favorite track off the album right now)

Side Effects (featuring Young Jeezy)

Love Story

Be Lovin' U Long Time

Last Kiss

Thanx 4 Nothin' (how I currently feel about a situation right now)

For The Record (this song is so beautiful. This was the music they used for her perfume commercial)

Bye Bye

& I Wish You Well

Make sure y'all go out and get This album!

Let me start off by saying..... "THIS ALBUM IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF THE YEAR THUS FAR!"..... Leona Lewis is what is right now! This girl music is definitely something I think everyone will enjoy. If you like Mariah, Whitney, and any other top female vocalist, you will definitely love Leona Lewis. Day 26 (Album Review)

3 's

I really like this Day 26 album. It's a pretty good CD considering the fact it was rushed. I think the guys did a great job and I'm happy that they doing well with their album. Here are some of the standout tracks for me, "Are We in This Together" (hot beat, nice R&B feel)"Co Star" (sexy mellow type of song) "Got Me Going" (nice song for their 1st single. pretty catchy, nice vocals to match) "If It Wasn't for You" (My favorite song off the CD... it's hot! I love Robert's part in this song. When he comes in with his verse it makes the song even better. LOVE IT! "Don't Fight the Feeling" (love the vocals on this track) "Exlclusive (No Excuses)" (when the show ended after Diddy picked his guys just about everyone was sorta feelin' this track. I like the beat, and the guys vocals together were hot for a group just put together for the 1st time.)

The CD is worth getting in my opinion. So Check it out.!

Danity Kane - Welcome To The Dollhouse (Album Review)

4 Stars

I love this CD! Its definitely a must have in for your music collection. These girls are definitely putting Diddy back on the map with his record label. They scored their 2nd # 1 album, and is headed 4 more success to come in the near future. For their sophomore effort they really put together a great CD. Vocally, and production wise. Some of my standout tracks are "Bad Girl" feat. Missy Elliott (a hot dance track that gets me movin' every time I hear it. I love when Missy comes in with her verse. She breaks it down.) "Damaged" (love it! Its funky, fresh an different.) "Secret Place Interlude" (even though this is just a interlude, it HOT! Just like "Come Over" from their 1st disc. I thinks its sexy. So if I ever have to strip I will make sure I wear this 1:16 min track out lmao. I'm just kidding.) "Ecstasy" feat. Rick Ross (a certain person really got me loving this song right about now. They love it, and every time I hear it I think off them. Its a really hot track.) "Poetry" (I love the dramatic feel of this.) "Is Anybody Listening" (I love the flow of this track. Their voices are great too.) ...... if u haven't already. Go out and get this CD. U won't be disappointed!

Janet Jackson - Discipline (Album Review)

31/2 stars

I know this is like 2 weeks late, but I've been busy and sick, so I never got a chance to really give my whole opinion on the new Janet CD. So I'm taking my lunch break to do it today. I have to say I do enjoy her CD. Alot of people is calling it the best Janet album ever! (Looks aways... I don't know about all that) but this CD is nice. "The Velvet Rope" to me is the best Janet Album ever. I've been rockin' it out in the car and in the ipod for these pass weeks, and the standout tracks to me are "Feedback" (of course lol), "Luv" (I like the beat and the whole vibe of this song it's hot), "Greatest Ex" ( I love the way she sings this song. I think it's really pretty and the story is deep. This can happen to a lot of people. Especially the folks I used to be with, because I know I was the best lmao... sike I'm just playing, but anyway next song. "Rock With U" (I have to be honest, I really wasn't into this song that much until MTV kept playing it all day in their Commercials, and then the video was released which I think is really nice), "So Much Betta" (This is the hottest song on the album to me. A nice dance track. Real funky and club friendly), "The 1" feat. Missy Elliott (this song is really funny to me. Missy always got something wild to say. I like Janet & Missy's collabo on this track. They gel really well.) & "Discipline" (now this is that sexy stuff right here. That tie me up and spank me type of song lol. I love it. I'm ready to get all this done that she mentions in this track for real lol. As soon as this flu gets outta me lol.) I think this album will do Janet well this year. I give it 3 1/2 stars as a whole outta 5.
