Movie Review: Saw V & Noah's Arc Jumping The Broom

Saw V B-

Alot of folks hated this movie, but I really enjoyed it to be honest. I look at it like this, they all connect back to the 1st one so it's like one big ol' movie. I like when movies still connect to its original. The opening scene for this film was nasty as hell lol. I liked my girl Meagan Good in this movie too. Do I recommend this film, Yes. If you seen the other 4, why not continue lol.

Noah's Arc Jumping The Broom C

I thought this movie was pretty good. I think for me, because I was such a big fan of the show, it was great to see all the guys back together again. It was funny at times, and very entertaining. Some things happen kinda fast throughout the film for me, and I thought some things were way over the top or even unrealistic. But over all, for it to be a independent film it, was nice. Check it out if you haven't done so yet.

HOLD UP!

You thought Saw V was better than Noah's Arc? No way dude.

I've been a fan of both since their beginning, but Saw V was a huge disappointment. If they are even considering doing a Saw VI, they need to scrap that idea. It’s done and has reached a dead end. They have stretched the story as far as it can go. Jigsaw is dead and the series probably should have died when he did.

Yes, some aspects of Noah's Arc were over the top and some things were rushed, but overall it was a great movie. Most good comedies or dramedies are like that. It’s a fictional tale, but the underlying issues are real. Black gay men need to talk about coming out, being real about their feelings and not putting on some mask to hide them, maintaining relationships, and of course marriage and commitment. I think the creator did a wonderful job with the film and brought the series to a good close. I’m going to see it again before it leaves and I’ll be purchasing the DVD when it comes out. The movie gets an A+ from me.

Cash S.: Wait a min buddy. LoL... where in this blog did I write, I thought Saw 5 was better than Noah's Arc? I just simply gave my opinion on two movies I saw over the weekend in one blog lol.

About the Noah's Arc movie....to each it's own you feel me. I never said it was a bad movie. I simply said it was pretty good and it was entertaining. I love movies, so when I walk out of one I will tell people exactly how I feel about it, and because it's a gay movie and I happened to be gay won't make me feel different about my opinions when talking about a film. That's why I said somethings where kinda rushed, Yes it was, because alot of stuff was going on. I also said it somethings were unrealistic, in my Opinion it was. Even though it's fictional, I just couldn't wrap my brain around how many real gay men are going to forgive their husbands or friend for sleeping, or kissing someone all in one night. See I was really trying to avoid kinda telling that part of my feelings towards the movie, because I know some folks have yet to see it. I felt the part about Wades ex boyfriend could have been explained. But that was my feeling about it. Because I do agree with your statement: Black gay men need to talk about coming out, being real about their feelings and not putting on some mask to hide them, maintaining relationships, and of course marriage and commitment. But that was not my reason for saying it was just Pretty Good lol.... I support and embrace anything that has to do with us gay black men, but at the same time I'm human 1st, so If I love or like it, I say it, but if I think it ok, I say that too, If I hate it o well lol. I just think you might have thought I may have been attacking the film when I said unrealistic because of it's Gay intent. But that's not the case OK buddy. I just like good movies. I evaluate everything in movies from the acting to the storyline. So in my book I still give it a C. ;)

Saw 5: Yeah I agree Saw has not been that great since the 1st few. But I love horror movies for one. And I just feel like, I been watching them from day one, and just can't stop now lol. It was a cool film to me. I just personally enjoyed it. Maybe because I was just nervous the whole entire film I don't know LMAO.

And if you would like me to say which one I liked or enjoyed the most between the two movies listed above (since you already accused me of doing so LMAO) ;) . I would have to say Noah's Arc. Even though I gave it a C it was the most exciting film I've seen over the weekend.

OK, I AM NOT UNDERSTANDING ALL THE DAMN DRAMA IN THIS COMMENT SECTION ABOUT THESE MOVIES. NO I DIDNT SEE SAW BUT THEY ARE 2 TOTALLY DIFFERENT TYPES OF MOVIES. I HAD A CHANCE TO SEE NOAH'S ARC ON SUNDAY AND I DID LOVE IT. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT NOAH'S ARC IS NOT SOMETHING YOU WOULD SEE ON HBO OR SHOWTIME. IT WAS GOOD FOR WHAT IT WAS. SO IN MY OPINION I DONT REALLY FEEL PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED THE MOVIE TO BE ON THE LEVEL OF A BLOCKBUSTER TYPE MOVIE.
THE SHOW AS WELL AS THE MOVIES HAS UNREALISTIC PARTS...THIS IS WHY THESE ARE SHOWS AND MOVIES MADE IN HOLLYWOOD. THE EPISODES AND MOVIES DEPICT THE POINT OF VIEW FROM THE PERSON WHO WROTE AND PRODUCED IT (MR PATRICK IAN-POLK)YOU REALLY CANT CRICTIZE HIM FOR HIS THOUGHTS. OF COURSE IF I WROTE IT OR IF DEONTE WROTE IT THE STORY AND CHARACTERS WOULD BE A LOT DIFFERENT. (I.E.OUR PERSPECTIVE) I UNDERSTAND DEONTE'S GRADE BUT I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT A HIGHER GRADE JUST BECAUSE I THINK IT IS A LOT BETTER THAN SOME MOVIES I HAVE SEEN WITH MUCH BIGGER BUDGETS. HEY PEOPLE SUPPORT THE FILM, ITS COOL.

CLSMOOTH: Craig what drama LMAO...

All I'm saying about this is this. To me it don't matter about the budget, who prospective it's from, who wrote it or whatever. I went to see 2 movies this weekend an gave my opinion. Period. I don't care if its Hollywood produced or camcorder recorded. I just personally said what I thought and that's it. My thing is everything is not for everyone. I have no specific way of picking my grade on a movie other than if I enjoyed it or not. I didn't break it down to big budget or low budget. How much it cost and things of that nature because I really just don't care. It was just based on what I take from a movie, and how I think it turned out. Simply, MY OPINION.
