Movie Review: American Violet

A+
Lately I haven't really been to the movies. There's been nothing that really has caught my interest. The last few movies I've seen were Watchmen, which I thought was a long a** boring movie. All I seen was a blue d**k throughout the entire movie. It was just horrible. Also Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail. It was just OK for me. Nothing to really rave about. And the movie Knowing just put me to sleep. I do KNOW it was not all that. So after going to see all these terrible movies, I finally came across a film worth talking about. American Viotet. This movies was Excellent. It was based on a true story set in a small Texas town in the midst of the 2000 Bush/Gore Presidential election that tells the astonishing story of Dee Roberts, a 24 year old Africa-American single mother of four who is wrongfully swept up in a drug raid. This story will definitely open your eyes up about how shady the law can be towards African Americans, especially in the Texas area at that time. I strongly recommend this film. Check it out and let me know what you think. The movie stars newcomer Nicole Beharie, Alfre Woodard, Charles S. Dutton and Xzibit.
