WHAT???

I hate when I ask someone a question, or just plain out speaking to them about something (while being polite) and they answer with WHAT? It irks my soul lol. Why can't people just say excuse me, or I'm sorry I didn't here you. Or something close to that? WHAT is such a ugly word when you are dealing with people in a professional manner. I mean, that's just my opinion.

Deonte,

You're right...saying "What?" is not only crass, but it displays a very low level of intelligence, imo. Also, every time those folks say it, they're usually shouting at you. Its just an ugly way to speak to someone. It happened to me a few times, and you know what I did? I just asked the question again. In the grand scheme of things, I'd rather show them the way two people can communicate effectively. I think the problem is just a pure lack of home training.

Man, I have to agree with you Deonte Kanye. OMG I work with a woman and when I call her name or speak to her, and she responds "what" I literally have to take a second and understand that's just her common response, but yea, I think one day soon, I'll be giving her some home/work training!

well i personally don't have a problem with saying what or someone saying what to me. doesn't bother me at all. depends on how you say it.
