My All Time favorite Song

A few months ago one of my Myspace buddies asked me what is my all time favorite song. And at the moment I couldn't give an exact song. Only because I'm so into music I couldn't choose just one off the top of my head. Then it hit me one day. "Misty Blue" by Dorothy Moore. Out of all the songs I absolutely love, this has to be the All time favorite Deonte` song. It's one of those songs that just takes me to a place I love to go. Even though it's a sad type of song, it reminds me of my childhood life. I can just remember my momma playing this & singing it with her hand up in the air lol. I think about how me, and my brothers would be running around the house playing, and every time I heard this song come on I would stop whatever I was doing, and go sit on the sofa, and rock back & forth listening to it. Sometimes even attempting to sing it lol. As I got older I learned that this was my mom, and grandfather's (my moms dad), favorite song as well. See my mom used to play, and still does all the great oldies, so I couldn't tell what was her favorite. This song never makes me sad. It makes me happy, and helps keep all those beautiful moments I remember from those days alive. You know how people get when the Christmas season comes around, or the holidays in general, when it's snow out on the ground, and all that good stuff? That's how I get, or feel every time I hear this song. It's so beautiful, and on of the best songs ever, ever recorded! ;)

Even though it's a I miss you type of bluesy song, it does fit certain situations when your down, and missing someone as well. I just get a different feel for it only because of the memories I have with the song.

So what is your All time favorite song, & why?

YESSSSSSSSS I LOVE this song....the Youngstas (like i'm in my 40's) don't know nothing about this one...they like the monica or mary j. version (which if i had 2 listen to one I'll take Monica over Mary) but yea I like this song but I would have to say my favorite song would be Betty Wright's "After The Pain", this just brings back sooo many memories from family gatherings, my grandaddy LOVED him some Betty soo everytime we had something her or either Al Green just HAD to be played

'It Aint Over til its Over', by Lenny Kravitz.
I found this song one night, back in the Summer of 1999, watching his VH1 'Behind the Music' Special.
I was experiencing a MAJOR Depression, of sorts; the Only one Ive ever endured in my life. The Lyrics and Melody of this Song just LIFTED Me Out of a Very Dark and Demonic Place. I internalized every line, and allowed his rhythms to electrify my Spirit and My Soul. To this Day, WNEVER I hear this track, REGARDLESS of where I am, I am transcend into an Oasis of sorts.

I hope I don't get murdered for this, but my favorite song of all time is "You're All I need". I first fell in love with Tammy Terrell & Marvin Gay's version. Then when Mary & Meth ripped it, I fell in love all over again.
