I'm really digging this track from former "Destiny's Child" member Michelle Williams. Something about this track is very sexy. I love the pop/dance feel it gives. I truly identify with the lyrics, because I'm very much in love, and this song expresses that emotion that I'm feeling to a T. "Boy you, shot with your love gun"..... I just love it... Michelle's team need to put this track out as a single, and base her album around this sound. It really suits her voice. What do you guys think?

I came across this photo of one of my Facebook/Twitter friends Kelvin Lamar Briggs, and it really touched me. It truly bothers me, that our society is so closed minded to the existence of HIV. Alot of people are suffering, not from the HIV itself, but from the way people treat, and react to their situation. They live in fear, and it's time we all stop being ignorant to the fact that this thing exist, and the people that have it, are our brothers, sisters, friends, and family. Believe it or not, having HIV is not the end of the road for the people that carry it. I know people who is living with it, and they are in the best shapes (mentally & physically) of their lives. My dad told me a story that I want to share with you. He told me a buddy of his found out he had HIV about 30 years ago. He was teased, and picked on, and hated because of his status. 30 years later, guess who is still walking this earth? And guess who's still walking around enjoying their life with their family??? But Guess who's buried six feet in the ground (hopefully resting in peace)??? Think about it. The people you look down on, and the people you think you may outlive because your HIV negative, and they are positive, could possibly be the very ones attending YOUR funeral. Stop all the hate people!!!! Love one another. Uplift your fellow brothers & sisters. Stop treating our HIV positive people like they are some type of animal. We are all humans. Yes I understand the fear that may surround HIV, but get educated on it. There are tools, out here that can get you updated on the virus. Sometimes we think the HIV person is the one we should feel sorry for, but I think you should look in the mirror and feel sorry for yourself. Feel sorry, that you allow your ignorance to get in the way of getting to know some great people because of something your clearly are not educated on. Do yourself a favor, don't end up like the people in the story I shared before. Open your hearts & minds. And to Kelvin Lamar Briggs, I may not can hug you physically, but here is a hug from the other side of this computer, and know the day we meet to do your photo shoot (because your a great model) I will give you the biggest hug EVER!!!! Keep your head up, and I have nothing but love for you!!

Disrespect "Us" No they Won't

The other day I posted this on Facebook & Twitter:
 "Everyone is not going to like everything that you do. At some point all the GREATS had to be talked about in a positive & negative form. Now that I see that this is happening, I know I'm doing something right, I'm winning!" 

I wrote this because, somehow on twitter some straight people was @-ing my twitter name, about my twitter Avatar at the time (the photo over here ---->). They were very disrespectful, and it took me back to reality on how much some people really do still hate gay people. They really didn't like my photo, and that I'm fine with. But to see the things being that was being said really through me for a loop. But @ the same time I then realize, this is how it all begins. When your on a path to greatness, the devil will try to throw some stuff in your way to slow you down. But not me, I'm knocking sh*t down, and coming through strong. Most people that follow my work, and has watched me grow as a artist, know I take risk, and basically do what the hell I want. Do I expect everyone to like, or get it NO!!! So with that being said, I stand by my photo, and I think it's a great one. For the simple fact that I'm a actor as well, I create characters for my shoots, so this was one of them for my dTk allstar shoot shot last month. (check it out here:  http://deontek.blogspot.com/2011/08/deonte-ks-spot-new-blog-banner-photoa.html). I keep saying this, but lord I've changed sooo much since I was younger. Back in the day I would have put these folks on full blast! But why give them the publicity they gave me. Hell, now they all know who I am, what I do, and who dTk photography is. And because of this shoot, I received about 14 jobs. So, if in my new shoot I have to wear a damn wig & dress I will do it!!! LOL... but I will not focus on just the negative, because that same day, I received so many great comments about my photo on twitter & Facebook, that it shocked me:

On a normal day, I'm a normal dude enjoying life. It's a shame we as gay people have to still find ways to not be bashed about who we are. The one thing I will say, I'm proud to be me, and for the Gay Community I will always represent!!!!  And to my dTk photography team, "Disrespect "Us" No they Won't!!!!!!"

Deonte` Who Designed Your Shirt?.....

..... this has been the most asked question of me this pass week about the shirt I'm wearing in this photo. I had it designed personally for me, for my dTk photography all star shoot a month ago by a talented guy named Davon Kane. The company is Durrt Inc. and he does some wonderful pieces. I'm definitely a fan, and have already purchased more outfits from the up and coming designers collection. Check him out & tell him Deonte` sent you! 


When I see this photo, It makes me think about Jennifer Hudson's version of "Feeling Good." Because that's exactly how I'm feeling these days. I'm in love, I have a great family, wonderful friends, building my photography company, and I'm enjoying life right now @ 30 years old. I've come a long way in my life to get where I am. It can only get better.

Back in June I wanted to create a new blog banner for my blog page. But I wanted to share the spotlight with some of my most consistent dTk photography Favs. It was really hard to pick from the bunch of people I've already worked with, but these models where hand picked by me personally, because they have proven to me, and themselves that they are dedicated to what I believe in, and everything that my dTk photography brand stands for. Each one of them has made the cover of all my photography pages, and have produced some of the best work dTk photography has to offer. This shoot meant alot to me because normally when I come up with ideas for a shoot for myself, I never really include anyone. Believe it or not, I can be very shy, and never really feel comfortable posing in front of people (other than my camera men) but I wanted to show my models that I practice everything I preach in my photoshoots with them. I lead by being an example of my own product, and everything I teach the people when I work with them, I live by, and produce myself. I love these guys very much, and I'm sooooo proud of them. For them to show up, and participate in this shoot with me meant everything. As I watched the cars pull up, I got very emotional. I was like "all these people are here to support me." Not just the models, but the photographers, and other crew members on the set. I can go on, and on about this, so I will just bring this to a close and say, thanks to everyone that supports dTk photography. These photos had no special strategy. This was more of a challenge for each of us. We were all provided with the tools, and information on what type of shoot this was going to be, and we were thrown together, to create a photo together (no matter how different our outfits looked). The goal was to "MAKE IT WORK".... so I present to you the very 1st "dTk photography allstar photoshoot." :) Enjoy........
